TSUNAMI/EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FOR JAPAN


The collection of coins for Tsunami/Earthquake relief that was started by the Long Hill Township School District will be continued by the Long Hill Library throughout the month of April. All coins collected will be given to the American Red Cross to assist in disaster relief for the devastated nation of Japan. You can drop off donations at the specially marked coin jar at the Front Desk of the library anytime during the month of April. All donors will be given one of the beautiful handmade origami crane bookmarks, which were donated for the cause.

This sale does not include Trade Paperbacks, hardcover editions or any
other materials.
You can find a large selection of these paperback books on a cart next to
the Sale shelf in the vestibule of the library. Select your books and pay
at the Circulation Desk.
All proceeds from this book sale are used to purchase new materials for the library.

FREE COLLEGE PLANNING WORKSHOP

Calling all parents of High School Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors! A free college planning workshop will be held at the Long Hill Township Public Library on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, from 6:45 to 8:15 pm.

This workshop will focus on choosing the best college for your student and your pocketbook. You will learn how to help students select which colleges to apply to and how to increase their chances of being accepted at their dream college. You will also learn the five questions they need to get answered before they apply to a college.

This workshop will also focus on the financial aspects of attaining a college degree. You will learn how to position your student to get a scholarship,how to get a "tax scholarship", and how to position your finances to merit aid, and so much more!

Backyard Birds through the Seasons

Learn to identify birds and which ones to look for in your backyard throughout the seasons!

Join us for this family program (ages 7 and up) as NJ Audubon teacher and naturalist, Dorothy Smullen presents a PowerPoint program on April 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Long Hill Library. At the conclusion of this one hour program, meet up at 2:30 at the new Great Swamp Visitor Center on Pleasant Plains Road in Harding, to practice your new bird identification skills. Bring binoculars if you own them!
