Check out Long Hill Library's great selection of magazines!

Tired of winter? Stop by and browse the Long Hill Township Library’s extensive collection of magazines and newspapers, including gardening and nature periodicals that will remind you that spring is just around the corner. Read the latest issue in our cozy magazine nook, or check out back issues to take home and enjoy at your leisure. The library has magazines for everyone, from Astronomy to Zoobooks.

“There is nothing I like more than sitting down with a cup of tea and a good magazine,” remarked Library Director Mary Martin. “I especially enjoy ShopSmart Magazine, which is a Consumers Reports publication that provides tips for savvy shopping. Mental Floss is a fun magazine full of interesting trivia and information, and of course another of my favorites is Where to Retire. I know I’m a little young yet, but I still like to read about all the places I could go when I am ready to retire!”

Browse our new “Magazines by Category” notebook, located in the magazine reading nook, to find magazines on subjects you enjoy such as travel, sports, health, home and garden, finance & investing, consumer information, food and wine, and of course general interest magazines. We also subscribe to large-print versions of Reader’s Digest and a weekly large-print edition of the New York Times.

“If you can’t get to the library, we have subscriptions to several databases that have full-text magazine articles,” Ms. Martin commented. “This is great for kids who need news articles for a school report, but it also comes in handy for adults. Did you know you can access Consumer Reports online at any time, day or night? If you're researching cars or trying to find out which digital camera is the best for you, you can always ccess the latest reviews from Consumer Reports via the library. All you’ll need is your library card number. Visit our website at www.longhilllibrary.org, and click Find Articles in Databases to learn how.”

Long Hill Library would like to thank Millington Savings Bank for their continued generosity to the community of Long Hill Township. For the past several years Millington Savings Bank has donated magazine subscriptions to the library so that everyone in our community can enjoy them. This year, magazines they donated include: Brides, Mental Floss, Entrepreneur, Girl’s Life, Conde Nast Traveler, Scholastic Parent & Child, Wine Enthusiast, and Woman’s Day.
