WEDNESDAY APRIL 13, 4 to 6PM: CRANES FOR JAPAN

Come join us! You can help Japan by making paper cranes at this drop-in event at the library. In response to the massive earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on March 11, the Seattle-based organization Students Rebuild has partnered with the Bezos Family Foundation to donate $2 for every crane received, to reconstruction efforts in Japan. The cranes will then be used in an art installation as a symbolic gift to Japan.

Several Origami teachers will be on hand to teach you how to make the cranes. Come at any time and make cranes for as long or as short as you want! This event is open to members of the community of any age! For more information about the project, visit www.studentsrebuild.org/japan.

If you can't attend the drop-in event at the library, here are some instructions for how to make a crane on your own: http://www.wikihow.com/Fold-a-Paper-Crane
