Explore the Morris County Libraries and you may win a prize while you're at it!
The Long Hill Township Library will participate again this September in the Morris County Library Consortium’s Passport to Imagination contest. The contest, which runs throughout the month, encourages Morris county residents to check out other libraries in the Morris county library network.
To participate, library card holders must first obtain a MAIN “passport” from their home library and then visit five additional MAIN libraries where the passport will be stamped. Library card holders who complete this series of library visits will be entered into a contest to win an Apple iPad 3, Google Nexus 7, or Kindle Paperwhite. The contest will be held from September 1, 2013 through September 30, 2013.
"It's so exciting for our library to be able to offer so many materials to our patrons," said Circulation Supervisor Clarissa Wagner. “It’s a great example of the kind of shared services New Jersey residents want to see happening.”
New for 2013 is a special children’s contest called Captain MAINia’s Adventures, an inter-library scavenger hunt open to all Passport to Imagination players under 10 years old. If they are able to find Captian MAINia’s hot air balloon in the Children’s Room of each of the six libraries they visit, they will be eligible for extra prizes. Prizes will be awarded at the county-wide Passport drawing at the Morris County Library in October.
M.A.I.N., Inc., the Morris Automated Information Network, is a consortium of 37 public libraries in northern New Jersey serving a population of over a half million residents. Through its participation in the MAIN network the Long Hill Township Library is able to offer residents more than two million items that can be checked out, including books, CD’s, videos, DVD’s and downloadable audio and e-books.
